In the film, Homer must save Springfield from a catastrophe he created.Here in the UK it was released on Wednesday, with midnight screenings taking place Tuesday night (i.e. Wednesday morning) from 0.01am. I went to a Wednesday evening screening and I can reveal the film is very funny. If you loved what you saw in the trailers then this will undoubtedly be your film of the year; but even if you are apprehensive you will still likely enjoy it!A word of advice: stay until the VERY END of the credits! As the credits roll there is still more to see from our favourite family, including an extra scene with Mr. Burns and Smithers, fantastic cast credits (watch them carefully!) and even a clip right before the familiar Gracie Films ident.
