Simpsons Movie director David Silverman knows what it takes to turn Tomacco into gold without being a cheese eating surrender monkey.It started with the decision to use a real world 'character' as the president of the United States. Yes, President Arnold Schwarzenegger was a conscious decision to go with the actual man rather than his caricature of Rainer Wolfcastle.

They initially had another version of Wolfcastle in office but in the end it just made more sense - comedically and logically - to go with a cartoon version of the governator.

Secondly, was the creation of Spider-Pig and, of course, now classic song that accompanies the hilarious animal. It didn’t take 12 people to write the song but they still felt that if it was coming out of the same room as everything else, it should go to everyone’s credit, Silverman says.
